Ok Day one and now one is following me yet! But hey I am just doing this because I want to share my thoughts, dreams and ideas with my fellow Single dads and friends!
Yesterday I spent the day taking care of my 3 1/2 year old son Ryder. He had a little accident on Saturday and I had to make my first trip to the ER. It wasn't bad but Ryder was scared and when he cries it makes me want to just reach out and hold him. But knowing that he will be in the ER more than once(I have been told I have been there a couple times) I took the time to sit and talk with him on my lap. We talked about what we where there for, what they where gonna do and finally what to expect. He stopped crying but had a major concerned look on his face, so I took the doctors rubber gloves and made him two balloons out of them. This put a smile on his face until they came in with a little Orange flavored Motrin and Ryder wanted nothing to do with medicine!!! But we talked it over and that he had to take it to himself and guess what he did!!! He took it all and showed the doctors how proud he was to have taken all his meds!
Now Ryder knows how to manipulate me! I am a sucker for a child. We went to the Orthopedic and they said it is just a pulled tendon and that we should just keep it in the cast for a couple days! But Ryder is happy to be sitting in bed watching TV. SO I think it will be hard to let it go since he is carried and babied all over again! But I love having my little man need his daddy again. I know you have all heard it over and over but time flies and I can't believe my son is 3 1/2 going on 10!!
Thanks for reading my rants and raves. Tomorrow will be about the Christmas season and how to teach our kids about giving and sharing. Till Then Have a fabulous day!
The Average Single Dad!
